(Kitchen) NextStep Clinics strengthen your game from the foundation up, specifically catering to new players and Pickleball 101 participants. Our "NextStep" clinic zeroes in on the most crucial part of the court: The Kitchen (Non Volley Zone). Since the kitchen is about precision and strategy, not just power, we'll teach you the skills to confidently control the game from the line. This clinic will cover: The Dink: Soft, low shots designed to force errors. The Reset: Techniques to absorb pace and bring the rally back to neutral. The Counter: How to block and redirect hard driven balls. The Volley: Aggressive but controlled shots to put the point away. Winning teams can stay on the court for a maximum of two consecutive games before letting new players take over. 3. Good game! Losing teams should exit the court after the match. 4. Next Up! The next four players with paddles in the holder get the next court. Exceptions & Tips No one waiting? If the paddle holder is empty, you're welcome to keep playing! To ensure you play with your friends, simply place your paddles together in the next available slots. If six or more paddles are in the holder, all four players will rotate off after the game, allowing four new players to come on. Look around at the players in attendance, be honest about your skill level, be aware, be kind, and have fun!

Weekend Warriors — Interclub Pickleball League Defend Your Home Courts. Conquer Theirs. PLEASE NOTE: This registration page is set for the last day of team registration which is Tuesday, September 29th. The first practice will be Saturday, September 26th. Open to players currently rated DUPR 3.400–3.899 (3.5+ Division) or 3.900–4.499 (4.0+ Division). Weekend Warriors is a regional interclub league where Black Barn fields a team that trains together, competes as a club against other Ohio Valley facilities, and travels to away matches throughout the season. For full game formats, rules, and league-wide details covering all four participating clubs, visit: wwinterclub.thepicklelodge.com . Roster: Each team can have up to 8 men and 8 women (16 total). Everyone on the roster plays at practices — but only 6 men and 6 women take the court on game days. The extra roster spots are intentional: they give the team a deep enough bench to field a full lineup every week, even with vacations, injuries, or scheduling conflicts over the season. Schedule: Full match schedule is still TBD, but your practice/game time is fixed for the whole season: Play or practice happens on Saturdays only. The season skips major holidays and large tournament weekends (including Monster Smash and Wintermax), and concludes with a playoff event in mid-to-late January.
